SMALLER AND MORE EXPLOSIVE

The Driver has become the easiest club to hit in the bag, almost. One of the keys to this transformation was the increased size of head, which is not a viable alternative for Fairway Woods. For a while, manufacturers flirted with larger head designs to allow greater face flexion and a larger hitting area, but they proved unpopular with the golfing public.
